DeShone Kizer was a top five quarterback heading into the 2017 NFL draft. The Notre Dame standout was drafted in the third round by the Cleveland Browns, who desperately needed a quarterback. The team traded for Brock Osweiler earlier this offseason, who will definitely be the favorite for the starting gig. However, the Browns might throw in Kizer to see what he can do. Kizer threw for 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns in his final year at Notre Dame. Kizer has shown to make good decisions on and off the field. During the first week of OTAs, Kizer showed to be superior to the other quarterbacks on the roster in mobility and arm strength. He also seemed very confident and already knew how much of the offense worked. If he can combine his physical traits with his smart mind, Kizer can develop into a very talented quarterback. The Browns picked three very good players in Jabrill Peppers, David Njoku, and Myles Garrett in the first round. The Browns are looking for playmakers and are hoping Kizer can fulfill that role. The Browns need a franchise quarterback and Kizer looks to be the frontrunner for that role.
